Beyond Profit: Business, Leadership, and Enterprise for the Kingdom

By Randell Tiongson on October 2nd, 2026

What is business really for?

For many people, business is mainly about profit, growth, market share, innovation, and expansion. These things matter because a business must be sustainable if it is to survive, serve customers, create jobs, and continue producing value. Yet for followers of Jesus, business can never be reduced to the bottom line. If Jesus is Lord over all of life, then He is also Lord over our businesses, careers, capital, people, products, technologies, strategies, and influence.

This is the heart behind BEYOND PROFIT: Business, Leadership, and Enterprise for the Kingdom, a conference designed for business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, and marketplace leaders of Victory. Beyond Profit is not simply another business event about becoming bigger, faster, or more successful. It is an invitation to recover a deeper and more biblical vision of enterprise and to ask what it means to build, lead, invest, innovate, and create under the lordship of Christ.

Business can be both profitable and purposeful. It can generate economic value while also creating jobs, solving problems, developing people, strengthening communities, stewarding resources, and contributing to human flourishing. For Christian leaders, the question is not only, “How can my business grow?” A more important question is, “How can I faithfully steward what God has placed in my hands?”

This conference is for Business and Marketplace Leaders of Victory

Beginning with Discipleship

The conference will open with a morning devotional from Pastor Dennis Sy, who will help establish the spiritual foundation for the day. Before we are entrepreneurs, executives, investors, professionals, or business owners, we are first disciples of Jesus. That identity must shape everything else.

The marketplace can easily define us by our positions, achievements, influence, and net worth, but Scripture reminds us that our deepest identity is found not in what we own or accomplish, but in whom we follow. Pastor Dennis will help anchor the conference in the truth that our businesses, talents, opportunities, resources, and influence ultimately belong to God. We are stewards before we are owners.

Kingdom Economics: Aligning Your Business with God’s Design

Randell Tiongson

I will be speaking on Kingdom Economics: Aligning Your Business with God’s Design.

Much of the conversation around economics focuses on growth, consumption, capital, productivity, and wealth creation. These are important, but Scripture gives us a much wider lens. The Bible speaks about work, stewardship, generosity, justice, contentment, productivity, wealth, poverty, creation, community, and human flourishing. There should be no divide between our faith and our business decisions because the way we earn, invest, compensate people, use capital, treat employees, serve customers, and engage suppliers all matter to God.

Kingdom economics is not about taking conventional business practices and simply adding biblical language to them. It is about allowing Scripture to shape the way we understand success itself. It asks whether the way we build and lead our businesses reflects God’s design for people, resources, work, and society. It challenges us to consider whether our enterprises are merely enriching owners or whether they are also serving others, creating opportunities, and contributing to the common good.

God’s Business Model: Integrating His Purpose, Profit, People and Planet

Jim Ayala

Jim Ayala will speak on God’s Business Model: Integrating His Purpose, Profit, People and Planet.

Jim brings a rare combination of corporate, strategic, and social enterprise experience. His career has included stints with McKinsey & Company and Ayala Land, where he gained deep exposure to strategy, leadership, large-scale organizations, and the realities of corporate decision-making. He later became known for his groundbreaking work in social entrepreneurship, helping show that businesses can be designed not only to generate profit, but also to address social needs and create meaningful impact.

That background gives Jim a particularly valuable perspective for this conversation. He understands both the discipline of building commercially viable enterprises and the importance of asking what those enterprises are ultimately for.

His session will explore how profitability and purpose do not have to be opposing ideas. Businesses must be financially sustainable, but profit does not need to come at the expense of people, communities, or creation. A redemptive business seeks to create economic value while also contributing to the well-being of people and society.

This is an important conversation because stewardship is not merely about what we earn. It is also about what our businesses create, whom they serve, and what kind of impact they leave behind. Business leaders have the opportunity to shape culture, create livelihoods, solve meaningful problems, and steward resources in ways that reflect the character and purposes of God.

Reading the Times: The Philippine Economy and the Road Ahead

Dr. Alvin Ang

Business leaders need to understand the environment in which they operate, and Dr. Alvin Ang, an established economist from the Ateneo de Manila School of Economics, will help us do that through his session, Reading the Times: The Philippine Economy and the Road Ahead.

Dr. Ang has long been involved in the study of the Philippine economy, development, labor, and public policy, giving him a strong vantage point from which to help business leaders understand both current realities and longer-term trends.

Economic growth, inflation, interest rates, employment, consumer demand, investment, global developments, technology, trade, and government policy all affect the decisions we make. Yet understanding the economy is not simply about predicting what will happen next. For Christian leaders, it is also about stewardship.

Wise leaders pay attention to the times so they can make better decisions, protect their people, identify opportunities, manage risks, and contribute meaningfully to the larger economy. Dr. Ang will help participants make sense of the Philippine economic landscape and the forces that may shape business in the years ahead.

Beyond the Algorithm: Building Enterprises for Human Flourishing

Gio Tingson

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the world of business. It is changing how we communicate, analyze information, serve customers, build products, automate processes, compete, and make decisions. The question is no longer whether AI will affect business because it already is.

Gio Tingson, Public Policy Head of Meta, will speak on Beyond the Algorithm: Building Enterprises for Human Flourishing. His role places him at the intersection of technology, policy, innovation, and society, giving him a unique perspective on how digital platforms and emerging technologies are shaping businesses and communities.

The more important question is not simply what AI can do. It is what kind of future we are building with it.

As Christian leaders, we need to ask whether technology enhances human dignity or diminishes it. We need to consider whether innovation helps people become more creative, productive, and purposeful, or whether it simply makes organizations more efficient at the expense of the people within them.

Gio’s session will challenge us to think beyond technology as merely a tool for scale and efficiency. It will help us consider how innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms can be used in ways that serve people, expand opportunity, strengthen communities, and contribute to genuine human flourishing.

Conversations from the Marketplace

Beyond Profit will also feature fireside chats with business and marketplace leaders from Victory who are seeking to live out their faith in the real world of enterprise, leadership, and everyday decision-making. These conversations are important because Kingdom principles are not meant to remain theoretical. They must be worked out in boardrooms, family businesses, workplaces, difficult decisions, seasons of growth, and moments of uncertainty.

Among those joining the conversations is Rosemarie “Rose” Oamil, an entrepreneur, designer, and advocate for artisan development in the Philippine business and design sector. She is closely associated with Melle + Marie, a Philippine luxury bag and accessories brand that has successfully reached international markets, with its products sold or exhibited in Paris, New York, and Milan. Rose’s journey demonstrates how Filipino creativity and craftsmanship can compete on the global stage when combined with excellence, perseverance, branding, and a clear understanding of the market. Rose has also served as Chief Strategist and Consultant of the Artisan Empowerment Association, where she has helped mentor Filipino artisans and MSMEs in areas such as product design, branding, and market competitiveness. Her experience brings an important perspective to Beyond Profit because it shows that enterprise can do more than build brands. It can empower communities, develop local talent, preserve craftsmanship, and create opportunities for Filipino entrepreneurs and artisans to reach markets far beyond our shores.

Aldy and Jacque Dy are business and community leaders from La Union who have sought to integrate their faith with family, work, and service to others. They lead the Heavenly Products Inc, which is involved in the national distribution of consumer goods, and they have also served in various community organizations. Their experience brings the perspective of building and leading an enterprise while remaining committed to civic involvement and the strengthening of families. Together, Aldy and Jacque have also been involved in Christian ministry, particularly in helping strengthen marriages and families. Their lives reflect a conviction that business, family, ministry, and community service need not be separate compartments. They can all become expressions of faithful stewardship when they are submitted to God and used to serve others.

Rodney Yap is a business and technology leader with extensive experience in the IT industry through Infosoft Consulting Corporation. Based for many years in Davao, he has also been actively involved in community development through the MOVE Foundation, which has supported 80 scholars in Davao. His experience reflects the potential of business leadership to extend beyond commercial success and create opportunities for the next generation. Beyond business, Rodney has been a committed lay leader in the local church. He served actively in Victory Davao, using his leadership experience and marketplace influence to serve and disciple others. Now based in Metro Manila and part of Victory BGC, he continues to serve as a business and lay leader, encouraging entrepreneurs and marketplace leaders to integrate their faith with the way they lead, work, and steward their businesses.

Alvin and Patty Lim are seasoned real estate entrepreneurs and the leadership team behind Everbright Real Estate, a growing Philippine brokerage serving property buyers, sellers, and investors. Their experience brings the practical perspective of building a business in a highly competitive industry while pursuing professionalism, integrity, and service. Patty Lim, Founder and Managing Broker, established Everbright after building a successful career in real estate sales and brokerage and now leads the company’s operations and expansion. Alvin Lim, CEO and Head of Sales, brings extensive industry experience, including senior sales leadership at Megaworld Corporation, with expertise in real estate sales, marketing, and client relations. Together, Alvin and Patty are committed to building a company marked by integrity, service, professionalism, and excellence while helping clients make sound and well-informed real estate decisions.

Roy Amurao is a seasoned businessman and leader with Tri-Mega Business International, Inc., one of the country’s major providers of textbooks, printed educational materials, and related publishing and printing services. Through Tri-Mega, he has been involved in large-scale projects supporting schools and the Philippine education sector. Beyond business, Roy has been deeply committed to discipling and mentoring business leaders through Victory’s business communities. He has consistently used his marketplace experience to help entrepreneurs and executives grow in faith, character, leadership, and biblical stewardship. Roy is passionate about helping business leaders understand that their work is not separate from their calling, but can become a platform for discipleship, service, and advancing God’s purposes in the marketplace.

Alexis Tan is a businessman and entrepreneur based in Subic, with interests across several industries, including the cable and telecommunications sector. He leads one of the established cable businesses serving the Subic area and has built a broad portfolio of business interests in the region. Beyond the marketplace, Alexis has been deeply involved in lay leadership and discipleship in Victory. He served actively in Victory Zambales, helping lead and disciple others in the church and business community. Now part of Victory BGC, he continues to serve as a lay and business leader, encouraging entrepreneurs and marketplace leaders to integrate their faith with the way they lead, steward resources, and influence their communities. His story reflects a conviction that business is not only a means of enterprise, but can also become a platform for service, discipleship, and Kingdom impact.

The fireside chats will bring the principles discussed on stage into the realities that business leaders actually face. We want to hear honest conversations about what it means to honor God when decisions become difficult, how to lead people well while remaining commercially competitive, how to navigate growth and failure, how to think about generosity and succession, and how to disciple others in the marketplace.

These are not conversations about perfect businesses or perfect leaders. They are conversations with men and women who are learning, growing, making difficult choices, and seeking to follow Jesus faithfully in the midst of pressure, opportunity, uncertainty, responsibility, and influence.

Business gives leaders extraordinary opportunities to shape culture, develop people, create livelihoods, influence communities, and demonstrate what godly leadership can look like. The workplace can become more than a place where transactions happen. It can become a place where people experience dignity, excellence, integrity, generosity, and the transforming influence of the gospel.

Commissioning for the Kingdom

Pastor Paolo Punzalan

The conference will conclude with Pastor Paolo Punzalan, who will lead a Commissioning for the Kingdom. This is an important way to end the day because Beyond Profit is not simply designed to give participants more information. It is intended to lead us toward mission.

The marketplace is one of the largest mission fields in the world. Every week, business owners and marketplace leaders interact with employees, customers, clients, suppliers, investors, partners, regulators, and communities. These relationships are not accidental. God has placed His people in businesses, boardrooms, offices, factories, stores, corporations, startups, and professions for a purpose.

Pastor Paolo’s closing message will remind us that our businesses and careers are not separate from our calling as followers of Jesus. We are sent into the marketplace to steward influence, lead people well, create value, serve others, make disciples, and represent Christ wherever God has placed us.

Business Is More Than Business

For many years, Christians have spoken about bringing biblical principles into business. Perhaps we need to go even deeper. What if business itself can become an act of worship? What if the way we build companies, create jobs, compensate people, solve problems, develop employees, deploy capital, use technology, and serve customers can all become expressions of faithful stewardship?

There is no part of our business life that exists outside the lordship of Jesus. Our boardrooms, balance sheets, strategies, resources, employees, customers, and influence all belong to Him. When we begin to see business this way, success is no longer measured by profit alone. It is also measured by faithfulness, stewardship, service, and the good we are able to create through what God has entrusted to us.

BEYOND PROFIT is an invitation for Victory business and marketplace leaders to recover a bigger vision for enterprise. It is an invitation to build profitable businesses without making profit the ultimate purpose. It is a call to pursue excellence, create opportunities, develop leaders, strengthen communities, steward resources wisely, and use business as a platform for service, discipleship, and mission.

We want to see businesses that are financially healthy and spiritually grounded, companies that create value while valuing people, entrepreneurs who pursue excellence without sacrificing integrity, and marketplace leaders who understand that their work is part of their worship and their leadership is part of their mission.

The real question is not simply how successful our businesses can become. The greater question is this: How faithfully can we steward them for the Kingdom of God?

That is the invitation of BEYOND PROFIT.
