A Front Row Seat to Grace, Growth, and God’s Mission
By Randell Tiongson on March 26th, 2026
One of the most moving moments for me at the recent Every Nation GO 2026 conference was listening to Pastor Dennis Sy preach on Psalm 67. His message, “Four Blessings, One Purpose,” was both clear and compelling. He reminded us that God blesses His people with grace, favor, equity, and divine guidance so that His way may be known on earth and His saving power among all nations. The message was not about comfort, it was about calling and a strong reminder that God does not bless us merely to improve our lives, but to make our lives useful for His mission.

That message moved many of us because it brought us back to the heart of the gospel. In a time when even sincere believers can slowly drift into a faith centered on personal blessing, private spirituality, and individual fulfillment, Pastor Dennis strongly reminded us that the gospel is much bigger than “me.” The gospel is about the glory of God, the advance of His kingdom, and the call to love God and love others. It is about joining God in His mission to make Himself known to the nations. It is about being blessed not for self preservation, but for self giving service.
For me, that message was not merely inspiring, it was deeply confirming. It spoke into my heart in a very personal way, especially in this season of full time ministry and it reminded me again why I said yes to this calling. It gave me a broad and biblical framework for how I want to serve in the years ahead. I want my life and ministry to be marked by a deep love for God and a sincere love for people. I want to serve others not as projects to manage, but as image bearers to honor, care for, and point to Christ. I want to keep resisting the temptation of the “me” gospel and instead live for the beauty and burden of God’s greater purpose in the world.
What made the moment even more meaningful for me was the privilege of hearing that message from Pastor Dennis himself. Since 2007, I have had the privilege of listening to him, observing him, working with him, and being friends with him. Over the years, I have been amazed and blessed by his deep spiritual growth and maturity. I have had a front row seat to the way he has led healthy churches with conviction, wisdom, and humility. I have watched him lovingly raise his family. I have seen how he has nurtured his relationship with Thammie with intentionality, faithfulness, and love. I have also seen how he has fostered authentic and meaningful relationships with his spiritual family.
On a more personal level, I have experienced his leadership and friendship in ways that have deeply shaped me. Pastor Dennis has personally encouraged me, developed me, challenged me, helped me, and even defended me. Those are not small things… those are gifts of grace from God through a faithful leader and brother. When you walk with someone over many years and witness both their public leadership and private faithfulness, your respect deepens, but more than that, your gratitude deepens. That is what I felt as I listened to him preach at GO 2026. I was not only hearing a gifted preacher, I was listening to a man whose life has been steadily formed by Christ, and whose leadership has blessed me and many others for nearly two decades.
That is why the message carried such weight for me; It was not detached from life, it was embodied. Pastor Dennis was preaching what he has lived. He has consistently pointed people beyond themselves and toward the mission of God. He has modeled what it means to lead with spiritual health, to love with sincerity, to build with conviction, and to keep growing in grace. In many ways, his message at GO 2026 was not just a sermon to admire. It was a life message that many of us have seen lived out over the years.
As I listened, I found myself filled with gratitude and renewed resolve. I was grateful to God for the privilege of being under Pastor Dennis’ leadership since 2007. I was grateful for the friendship we have shared. I was grateful for the many ways God has used him in my life. And I was grateful that now, in this season of my own journey, I get to look ahead with joy to serving with him in the coming years as we embark on another transition in our conjoined lives.
I know I still have much to learn and I know I still need more grace, more wisdom, more courage, and more love. But after hearing that message, I also felt a fresh clarity. The call is not to build a life around myself, the call is to love God, love others, and spend my life serving His purposes. The call is not to shrink the gospel to my own needs and preferences, but to live in light of God’s great mission in the world.

My prayer coming out of GO 2026 is simple. Lord, keep delivering me from a small and self centered gospel. Keep teaching me to love You deeply and love others well. Thank You for the privilege of sitting under faithful leadership for all these years. Thank You for Pastor Dennis Sy, for his life, his leadership, his friendship, and his example. And thank You that in this season of my life, I get to keep serving with joy, humility, and expectation in the work You have called me to do.

Inspiring discourse and spiritually moving!
